How to Get The Most out of Your Candle

KURROC candles are hand-poured using botanical plant based indian soy wax and our premium fragrance blends. When burned correctly, our candles have an incredibly long burn time for their size. Each 300ml candle is expected to burn for around 60+ hours and our 500ml candle for 90+ hours. KURROC Candles smell divine, circulating your entire space, delivering incredible value for money.

To get the most out of your KURROC candle, we advise you to follow a few basic candle burning instructions which will enable you to really maximise the longevity and satisfaction of your KURROC experience.

THE FIRST BURN

When you light your candle for the first time, make sure that you burn the candle until the wax melts across the entire surface up to the sides of the jar — this is known as a 'melt pool'. An even melt pool will prevent tunneling on later burns, and create the candle's burn memory! Yes, your candle has a memory, and it will continue to burn clean and even for the duration of the candle's life. Best burn times for your candle should be between two to four hours and no longer! This avoids the possibility of your wick burying under the wax. Plus, creating an excessive melt pool, and wasting fragrance oils in your candle. The fragrance will still linger once the flame is snuffed. Wait two hours before lighting your candle again.

TRIM YOUR WICK

The importance of trimming your wicks cannot be stressed enough! Trim your wick before every burn to a length of three to six millimeters. Wick trimming will avoid any mushrooming, which can eventually result in soot build-up. Trimming your wick also prevents your flame from getting too big, and continuing calm throughout it's burn life. 

CANDLE PLACEMENT

The placement of your candle within your home will affect the way scent is dispersed. Open windows and doors will lessen the fragrance concentration and allow scent to 'escape'. We have found that our 300ml jars perform extremely well in standard sized rooms and our 500ml jars perform better in larger rooms!
